"CLIMATE JUSTICE" PROF.DR. SERDAR GÖNCÜ "GLOBAL WARMING AND CLIMATE CHANGE" SEMINAR

Within the scope of Erasmus + Program Inter-School Exchange Partnerships (KA229), the project numbered 2020-1-TR01-KA229-092927_1 named 'CLIMATE JUSTICE' is carried out within the body of our school in Eskişehir Fatih Science High School.

One of the Sustainable Development Goals, “13. In our project, which is based on "Matter Climate Change", our youth; It is aimed to learn the effects of habits related to consumption behavior on the environment and climate change, to recognize irresponsible attitudes, to gain awareness about the environment, to reduce their unintentional damages, and to display conscious consumer behaviors in their daily activities. Themes determined related to the project; energy and climate, water and climate, recycling and climate, diet and climate, transportation and climate relations and their effects on climate change.

 

“To provide information on Climate Change (UN and OECD)” to increase the knowledge and experience of our students on this subject, a Distance Education Seminar was held by Prof. Dr. Serdar GÖNCÜ on Thursday, 20. 05. 2021, between 20.15 and 21.45, to contribute to the awareness raising activities in the ZOOM program.

 

At the Distance Education Seminar attended by our school students, teachers and administrators, “ESTÜ Engineering Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Serdar GÖNCÜ ”shared his knowledge and experience with our stakeholders under the title of“ Global Warming and Climate Change ”.

 

After the screening of "May 19, Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day", Prof. Dr. Serdar GÖNCÜ, What is the climate? What is climate change? What is global warming? What has changed from the past to the present? What awaits us in the future? What needs to be done to change this? He made a very detailed and efficient presentation on his subjects and answered the questions of our participants after the presentation.

ESTÜ Porsuk Vocational School, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Technology and Operator Program Doctor Faculty Member Birsen Açıkel, who helped us meet our professor and contributed to the realization of our seminar, honored us by participating in our program.

Although our school principal, Mr. Ali Rıza EZEN, who has been treated for Covid 19 for 23 days, is still in the hospital, he did not leave us alone and gave his  Prof. Dr. Serdar GÖNCÜ. The meeting was ended with the speeches of thanks by our project coordinator Asuman BAŞ and Moderator Fatma ÖZ.
